I am all about finding good deals, so when I heard that Old Navy was having a Bogo sale, I had to check it out. Amidst the clearance racks and all, I didn't find many things I really wanted, but I did score a couple items that I really love.
I also made the $1 flip flop sale which is always something my aunt and I look forward to because they have the best multi colored flip flops for the summer.
The first thing I found was this very minimal bracelet that came in a pack of three with gold, silver, and gunmetal. I love minimalistic jewelry and I gave the other ones to my friends. Three were only about three dollars and I was happy with this buy because I normally don't pick out any jewelry when I'm shopping.
The next thing I really fell in love with was this Fringe Hemmed Tank that also came in black and orange. I think fringe is totally back in style and is so subtle and chic on this summery top.
I stray away from white, but just couldn't because of the cute detailing. I bought this for ten bucks and have worn it way too many times already. It's a staple in any women's wardrobe. You can tuck it into some festival shorts or layer it with a patterned cardigan.
The last thing I couldn't manage to put down were these Lace Up Flats that were only four bucks! They're this beautiful periwinkle color and I have never owned shoes like these before. I am going to be adventurous with the pointy toe and see how it goes! They were so on sale that I couldn't pass 'em up.
I tried to find at least a match to what I bought because these were on clearance. The bracelet was hard to find. Old Navy always has hidden treasures and classic staples that really never go out of style. What do you love about Old Navy?
It's the middle of July (woah) and that means oppressive heat and sunny days...and chapped lips. I know that no one desires to have chapped lips and recently I have been consistent with moisturizing and exfoliating my lips.
I have always been a chapstick and lipstick obsessor, but lately I have been loving lip scrubs and exfoliators. They leave you with amazingly soft lips and there are even some great ones at the drugstores.
Before I use any lip products, it has been added to my makeup and skincare routine to exfoliate my lips because I have forgotten how important it is to take care of them. I was at Target a while ago and stumbled across the Elf section and was wondering why there was a mint green lipstick! To my surprise it was a lip exfoliator. The best part? It's in a tube! No mess and great minty taste. I also got this other clear one that tastes like Shea butter or cocoa butter. You just apply it to damp lips, massage in circular motions, and try not to lick it all off (hehe). These are so inexpensive and great for on the go and no more sticking your clean fingers into sugar scrub pots.
I have always been a huge EOS fan and all of their products have been mentioned if not loved. I was that teenager who was obsessed with lip balms and tints and I had one of every flavor or color and couldn't finish any of them, but just didn't care. It may sound pathetic, but it might show how much I actually love and continue to use them. I have never found that the Blueberry Acai has been a current favorite and I also really love Summer Fruit.
Another balm I have been using, which is also a classic favorite of mine, is the Burt's Bees Bring Back the Bees Coconut and Pear lip balm. It is so summery and I will always support environmental movements or campaigns that companies do. It's nice to switch back and forth to have options. Both give very smooth and soft lips. What has been your favorite lip balm?
When do you ever get to say that you've slept in a shed? Now I've slept in a tent, a car, a train, a plane, but never a shed. My family has just put up a new shed in our backyard and it was our neighbor's grand idea to #bless it and sleep in it for a night. Now I was like, "Yeah, whatever. I'm just gonna leave in the middle of the night", but then I was like WAIT. This would be a great story to tell. So, here I am.
Now this isn't any horror movie and no, our parents didn't punish any of us and make us do it. My neighbor friends, my sister, and I pledged to camp one night in the muggy summer to sleep on two queen air mattresses and using one hell of a bug net to keep us sane.
Talking about summer experiences! We kept our selves preoccupied before bed by playing some classic Apples to Apples and had all the snacks you could have. My neighbor was like "Natalie, when do you ever get to sleep in a shed?", and I was like "Never". We did start to feel gross and sweaty--covered in bug spray, but we had some pretty good laughs in that shed. We were probably the most lit shed in all of my town. I wondered if there would be anyone else sleeping in a shed...for the same or different reason as us.
Would I do it again? Not unless I had to. It was hot and being close to four bodies like that was a little claustrophobic. I would prefer a tent more for air flow, we did have an oscillating fan to keep us alive and a net Gorilla taped to the doorway because there was no way we would have lasted. It was one hell of a time. Would you sleep in a shed? Just for fun?

I may or may not be too late into the game to share the new L'Oreal Lash Paradise mascara, but I'm going to share my thoughts on it anyway. First things first (I'm the realist), the packaging undoubtedly reminds me of the Maybelline Lash Sensational and that's perfectly okay because I am obsessed with that one and rose gold. When I first used it, it was so much of a curling mascara, but a lengthening and volumizing one.
My lash curler helps with curling my lashes more and I was really impressed with this mascara. I think it is the first one I have actually enjoyed using from them.
I love the shape of the brush; it's more of an hour glass shape so it really helps to get all of your lashes in just a couple swipes. They have many different colors, but I decided to stick with Blackest Black and the original formula instead of water proof. I think this might be my new go-to summer mascara! It really opens up my almond shaped eyes and lasts pretty much all day (disregard hot and muggy days). It's not clumpy and doesn't really smear unless you try very hard. What has been your favorite drugstore mascara?
I just got back from my annual camping trip that my family and I go on every year. We go up into northern Michigan in the Little Traverse Bay Area and camp at one of the state parks. It has been our favorite place to go to and this year we decided to make a pit stop at Mackinac Island known for only it's bike and horse drawn carriage driven roads, fudge, and views. It always feels like we were just camping and I can't believe I am already home (and taking a really nice shower).
I thought I would do kind of the same thing as I did last year with the photo story because many of these speak for themselves. These first few pictures were on the island and we biked all the way around it--a total of 8.2 miles. We stopped halfway for ice cream and met up with some of my cousins and their cute golden retriever pups.
We spent Fourth of July up there and enjoyed time at camp with our new Eno Hammock which my whole family loved. We also celebrated my dad's birthday and had a really nice time enjoying our campfires and s'mores. Many people ask me how I even camp for so long and I ask them why they don't! It's honestly one of my favorite things to do and it's truly not that hard to do. I have been camping for about 13 years now and every trip brings more memories every time.
Even though this trip might have been different than last's without our pup and friends, we still had an amazing time soaking up the sun and going to the beach. We had unbelievable weather and I enjoyed it all. Besides my sunburn, I would say that it was a really nice trip. Have you been camping before?
